What Is The Food & Agriculture Project?
The City of Edmonton is in the process of developing a strategy to address food systems and urban agriculture under the initiative “The Way We Grow”. Agriculture and food systems can contribute to the local economy in addition to cultural, financial, social and environmental sustainability of Edmonton. A strategy will address city planning and decision‐making issues in areas such as: community design and land use, economic development, social development, waste management, transportation and parks.
What are the Citizen Panels?
Citizen Panels are made up of a broad random, representative sample Edmonton citizens who come together to discuss, learn about, and make a recommendation to City Council. Each session focuses on a specific issue related to the project topic where participants will learn about a wide range of views on each topic.
